IM TUNNEL
IM TUNNEL
The secret show IM TUNNEL unfolded on a stormy summer night inside the access ramp of a stalled highway. The evening opened with a curated exhibition of digital and analog photographs, prints mounted directly on the walls. As rain began to fall, the night shifted into a movie screening – and finally, a tunnel rave.
Throughout the show, we embraced the materiality and spatial configurations of the site. The derelict highway construction became the framework for an extraordinary aesthetic experience – a space to imagine tangled futures and pay ritual homage to the underground.

The exhibition was installed along a 60-meter access ramp, beginning at the tunnel entrance with four large-scale black-and-white photographs of metro tunnels in Barcelona, Madrid, Frankfurt, and Offenbach. These were followed by a photographic series documenting various underground infrastructures, including sewer systems, stormwater runoff facilities, bunkers, and basements. Further along the ramp, a 4.6-meter-tall, two-dimensional reconstruction of the so-called Amazon Tower was presented, concluding with a large-scale rooftop photograph of Germany’s financial capital.
The accompanying program took place inside the tunnel and included a film screening of a science-fiction horror film depicting a society living underground, followed by a moderated discussion led by B. Keshipour. After midnight, the night culminated in a tunnel rave with DJ Glossy and CherryboyAnthony headlining. Although the event was planned for just one evening, the exhibition may still be accessible, as the photographs were left for their natural afterlife.
