IM TUNNEL
IM TUNNEL
The secret show IM TUNNEL took place on a stormy summer night inside the access ramp of a stalled highway extension. The evening began with a curated photo exhibition — a mix of digital and analog photography, the prints mounted directly on the walls. As the rain began, we concluded with a movie screening, followed by a tunnel rave.
Throughout the show, we embraced the materiality and spatial configurations of the site. The derelict highway construction became the framework for an extraordinary aesthetic experience — a space to imagine dark futures and pay ritual homage to the underground.

At the tunnel entrance, four large-scale black-and-white photographs depicting metro tunnels in four cities (Barcelona (ES); Madrid (ES); Frankfurt (DE); and Offenbach (DE)) were displayed. A photo series of various other underground infrastructures (sewer system, storm wanter run off facilities, bunkers and basements) followed. Further along, a 4.6-meter-tall, two-dimensional reconstruction of the so-called Amazon Tower was exhibited. The gallery wall concluded with another large-scale photograph taken from a rooftop, showing the high-rise towers of Germany’s financial capital. In total, the open-air gallery spanned 60 meters, covering nearly half of the access ramp.
As night fell, the event continued with a movie screening inside the tunnel, featuring a sci-fi horror film about the dystopian society bond to live underground, followed by an open discussion led by B. Keshipour on the film's relevance and meaning. The night culminated in a tunnel rave after midnight, with DJ Glossy and CherryboyAnthony headlining. Although the event was planned for just one evening, the exhibition may still be accessible, as the photographs were left for their natural afterlife.
